Mini-Session Madness

Fall mini-sessions are in full swing! This is fun because I get to see so many great friends who I otherwise don't get to see often enough.  This family is one example of that. We got to hang out for about 45 minutes, and I got to watch them interact as a family and see how much their kids have grown. With all our busy lives, it's nice to have a full 45 minutes to just be with them! Plus, look how beautiful they are...

Collision

It's always fun when two of my different worlds collide and I get to reconnect with people from a past life. I knew this family several years ago from church, but we lost touch for a few years. Then recently, their son started attending the same school as my son. I hadn't seen their oldest child since he was a baby, and I had never met their youngest (who, coincidentally, has the same name as my youngest!). And now here they are, a family of four...

A Boy and His Mama...

It's always fun when I get to meet a new family. Last weekend I got to spend some time with this little cutie...



...and his sweet mom...







He was a happy and energetic almost-4-year-old, but not too energetic to still be very polite, and he was *almost* always willing to stop and give me some good smiles!



There's something special about a boy and his mama. Since I now have 2 boys of my own, I appreciate this special relationship so much more!



He was a perfect little model and a sweet little gentleman. I hope I get to see much more of this handsome little man as he grows!

Kicking off Fall Photo Season

Last weekend I started scouting out new locations for fall photo sessions. I took along one of my favorite families - partly because they're so photogenic and cooperative, but mostly because I just love them!

 When I showed my friend this picture, she said with a smile, "Ah, so young. So in love." They may not exactly be newlyweds anymore, but I would bet they're just as much in love today!
 



Sweet, beautiful girl. This is one of my daughter's best friends, and I keep hoping that just maybe some of her compliant, rule-following personality will rub off on my little one. It hasn't happened yet, but maybe someday...



Then there's this spunky little ball of fire. I love her spirit and her spunk. I can't wait to watch both these amazing girls grow up and change the world!







And with that, fall photo season has officially begun!

I'm Back!

Whew! It's been a crazy summer with a new baby and no school. But things are settling down and I'm officially back to photographing people other than my own children again. I started off with the perfect subject - this handsome little man. Could he be any more beautiful? At almost 2 years old, he was very sweet and fun. I think 2-year olds may be my favorite people in the whole world!

Here are just a few of the images from our time together. He looks an awful lot like my own 2-year old boy, so of course I think he's super cute!

Baby Love

This little guy will be my new photography project. We welcomed our baby boy Saturday morning at 2:30 am, weighing 6 lb, 5 oz. There will be many more pictures to come soon!

 

Sweet Sisters

These pictures make me wish I had 2 little girls I could dress up in matching dresses.  I love these little girls, partly because they're both amazing little girls, and partly because their mom is equally amazing. I'm not so sure I would have made it through this past year with my sanity still intact if it weren't for this family who I love so much!






This sweet girl is one of my daughter's very favorite friends! She's inquisitive, intensely intuitive, compliant, and kind-hearted. All of that adds up to one very special girl!



Her little sister has a bit more fire in her personality! Spunky, determined, and way too smart for her own good...also adds up to a super special little girl!



I love this expression. She's up to something!

W Family Spring

Last weekend I shot my last outdoor family session before our new baby boy comes in just 2 weeks. Here's a look at a few of the pictures we got...

 This kid was not at all impressed with my photographer tricks. Maybe I'm not as funny as I think I am, but he definitely didn't find me amusing. But even without a smile, that's a pretty darn cute face!
